Questions people ask

Most of them come up on a first call, so here they are up front. If yours isn’t here, ask me.

  • What kind of businesses do you work with?

Owner-run businesses that sell through conversations: reps, phone calls, quotes and recurring orders. Usually there’s no tech person on staff, and the CRM is Keap, HubSpot or HighLevel.

  • Why do I have to pay for a check-up?

Because it’s real work. I go through your actual system and count what’s leaking, instead of guessing from a sales call. If you go ahead with the fix within 30 days, the full fee comes off it. If you don’t, you keep the report.

  • Something is broken right now. Do I still need the check-up?

No. If something is actively broken, tell me what happened, and if I can help, I’ll come back with a fixed price to fix it.

  • How is the fix priced?

One fixed price, agreed before I start, based on what the check-up finds. Half up front, half when it’s done. No meters and no surprise bills.

  • Do I have to switch software?

Not necessarily. Most rescues fix what you already have. If moving really makes more sense, I’ll tell you why and what it costs, and the move is part of the fixed price.

  • Do you need my passwords?

No. You grant me access through each tool’s own user settings, read-only to start. Your accounts stay yours, and you can remove me any time.

  • What happens to my data?

It’s yours. Your customer list, your history and your accounts stay yours, and if we stop working together, you keep all of it.

  • We got an email from Keap about its API. Should we worry?

Maybe. Keap has said that starting March 15, 2027, it will stop supporting its older XML-RPC API. It won’t switch off that day, but Keap won’t patch it or help when something built on it breaks. If your order syncs or other connections run on it, it’s easier to deal with now than on the day it fails.

  • Can’t I just do this myself?

You might, if you have the hours. Most owners I talk to don’t: half an hour a week isn’t enough to get up to speed on a system someone else built. What you’re paying for is someone who already knows how these systems break, one fixed price, and someone keeping an eye on it afterward.

  • Can you guarantee results?

No, and be careful with anyone who does. I’ll tell you exactly what I’m fixing and what it does.

  • What if something breaks after you’ve fixed it?

If it broke because of something I built or changed, fixing it is on me. And catching breaks early is the whole point of having your lead paths watched.

  • Why do my business texts need to be registered?

The phone companies require businesses to register before they’ll deliver texts from a regular phone number. Unregistered business texts get blocked. I handle the registration and set up your texting the way they require.

  • Where are you based?

Lehi, Utah. I work Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Mountain Time, with clients wherever they are. Most things get answered in writing, with a call when it’s worth one.

  • Can I see examples?

Yes. The work page has a few. I describe clients by what they do rather than by name, because I don’t put anyone’s business on my website without asking.
